The Spanish Institute La Flor offeres guests the opportunity to learn spanish in an authentic rural Costa Rican community, surrounded by mountains and nature´s beauty. Intensive spanish classes are offered M-F. We can tailor classes to meet your language ability and scheduling needs. We teach in small groups, but also offer classes on an one-on-one basis. Classes are dynamic with diverse teaching techniques.

Professors: La Flor Alternative Spanish Institute has trained instructors who have many years of teaching experience with both groups and individuals. Classes are taught with a warm environment and a high interest in social interaction.

Original workbooks: We provide students with our own manuals that were created following professional standards of Spanish teaching techniques for foreign students. We offer three different levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced).

Placement test: We apply a placement test (oral and written) in order to designate the language abilities of each student.

Curriculum: we provide students with an overview session of Costa Rican culture and geography. Additionally, the class includes a four-hour workshop of Costa Rican cuisine.

Agroecological farm: Spanish classes take place in beautiful classrooms within the green areas of La Flor de Paraíso Agroecological farm. This farm is surrounded by tropical gardens, a tropical forest, and organic agriculture. La Flor Alternative Spanish Institute helps finance the environmental programs to children, teenagers and adults from the surrounding communities of the farm. This farm is run by ASODECAH, a non-profit association.
